{"id":138,"date":"2021-05-26T15:02:47","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T19:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/totallyfilmi.toutes-directions.com\/totallyfilmi-wp\/?p=138"},"modified":"2021-05-26T15:02:48","modified_gmt":"2021-05-26T19:02:48","slug":"drive-in-six-words","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totallyfilmi.toutes-directions.com\/totallyfilmi-wp\/2021\/05\/26\/drive-in-six-words\/","title":{"rendered":"Drive in Six Words"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em><span class=\"has-inline-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color\">This post first appeared on Totally Filmi on November 13, 2019.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TLDR:  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My god, what did I watch?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, it&#8217;s time to revive Films in Six Words (inspired by a site that no longer exists, and I haven&#8217;t done it in a while, either, but it&#8217;s always a good, fast way to get a film out of my system)!&nbsp; This time, the straight-to-Netflix release of&nbsp;<strong>Drive<\/strong>&nbsp;from director Tarun Mansukhani and Dharma Productions.&nbsp; Take a gander at the trailer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Drive Official Trailer | Jacqueline Fernandez, Sushant Singh Rajput, Pankaj Tripathi | Netflix India\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7ZU6X0wyzgc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drive<\/strong>&nbsp;is, seriously, probably the worst film I&#8217;ve seen in a very long time.&nbsp; It&#8217;s bad.&nbsp; Not &#8220;so bad, it&#8217;s good&#8221;.&nbsp; It&#8217;s just bad.&nbsp; I mean, there are days when I&#8217;m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but even I knew from the moment Boman Irani stepped on screen who his character was and how this all was going to end.&nbsp; Rumour has it that Karan Johar didn&#8217;t like it, and I guess I can&#8217;t blame him for trying to cut his losses and make something out of this by sending it straight to Netflix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But seriously, everything about this film is awful.&nbsp; The directing?&nbsp; Awful.&nbsp; The acting?&nbsp; Awful.&nbsp; The writing?&nbsp; Awful.&nbsp; The visual effects?&nbsp; So awful they made me cringe.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And never in a million years could I believe this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wabisabi.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341ce06c53ef0240a49cb599200c-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wabisabi.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341ce06c53ef0240a49cb599200c-500wi\" alt=\"Drive_F1Driver\" title=\"Drive_F1Driver\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>And I thought Big Boy Toyz, that features in the film, was something they made up.&nbsp; Nope. This is an actual company that actually exists.&nbsp; Probably the most extensive product placement I&#8217;ve seen in a film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wabisabi.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341ce06c53ef0240a4ea9ef2200b-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wabisabi.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341ce06c53ef0240a4ea9ef2200b-500wi\" alt=\"Drive_BBT\" title=\"Drive_BBT\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>However,&nbsp;<strong>Drive<\/strong>&nbsp;does offer up one important piece of wisdom:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wabisabi.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341ce06c53ef0240a49cb5a9200c-pi\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wabisabi.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d8341ce06c53ef0240a49cb5a9200c-500wi\" alt=\"Drive_Karma\" title=\"Drive_Karma\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post first appeared on Totally Filmi on November 13, 2019.
